Cloud Software we use at CloudSource Solutions
As the people behind coursedirector, the app that lets schools and colleges manage their courses online through google apps, we are obviously betting that the future is on cloud based apps, and strong advocates of SAAS/cloud computing. From our point of view it comes down to two main reasons:- It makes your company nimble, not bogged down with high fixed costs: software becomes an OPEX not CAPEX and you can adjust your costs from month to month
- Location independence - as mentioned before I'm a huge fan of the four hour work week philosophy and I love the idea of being able to work from anywhere
- Yuuguu - simple app to share your desktop for product demo's
- Evernote - I use this for everything from storing business cards of people I Meet to my bookmarks service
- Google apps - We are a Google Apps partner - enough said :)
- Coursedirector
- Zoho - Great simple and functional CRM, free for up to 3 users
- MailChimp - Can manage an email list of up to 1000 users for free
- Linode - great hosting service, UK And US based servers and we use both depending on our clients location
- Godaddy - This is the only service I use regularly I feel strained to recommend. Incredibly spammy interface
- AgileZen - Great project management tool
Software we used and ditched:
- Salesforce.com - overpriced and terrible customer service
- Verticalresponse - Actually a great product I just felt MailChimp was better
